Rockets' defense blows up Bertha-Hewitt 12-0

Underwood rebounded from a string of recent injuries to get back in the win column Tuesday night with a 12-0 shutout of Bertha-Hewitt in Class 9-Man Section 4 Playoff action.
The two teams played to a draw statistically, but it was Underwood’s defense that secured the shutout.
“Our defense played very solid tonight,” said Rocket coach Chuck Ross. “We kept Bertha-Hewitt in check all night.”
Luke Holmquist, Chris Mortenson and Jacob Meder each had interceptions for the Rockets.
On the offensive side of the ball, Wes Green rushed for 128 yards on 34 attempts.
Rocket quarterback Dylan Meyer returned from a concussion two weeks ago to complete four passes on 10 attempts and 53 yards. Meyer rushed for one touchdown and caught a 22-yard touchdown pass from Dalton Jampsa.
Underwood has a tough challenge ahead, facing perennial powerhouse Verndale on the road Saturday. Earlier in the season, the Rockets lost 24-32 to the Pirates after failing to convert four 2-point attempts.
