How long has this election been going on? You've obviously seen too much O'Reilly and Hannity and done too little READING on your own.

Obama's academic records (top of class) are sealed for the same reason that McCain's (bottom 5 of class) are sealed. If you read Obama's TWO best-sellers, the quality of mind is apparent and beliefs bare for the reader's judgment. Disagree with the positions, not out of willful ignorance!

As a former US Army intel officer I refuse to believe what I am seeing. If I were to enlist in the Army and had ONE of Obama's acquaintances my application for security clearance would be denied. Obama doesn't have just one but a whole slew of them. I find this incomprehensible that in our country such hatred exists for our values. Obama is no doubt a dedicated Marxist-Leninist with an globalist mentality. Our country as we have known it has ceased to exist. There is no hope. Only a physical revolution would save us but we lack the testicular fortitude to move forward.

We deserve better journalism than fear-mongering and witch-hunt style innuendo. The real issues of substance are non-existent in this no more of a suggestion (i.e., and illusion) of "journalism". When we live in fear-induced hatred of "them", we impose blinders that can only lead to yet more of what the neo-cons have perpetrated upon the trusting American people. The millions of patriots who have died, suffered, and fought for the sacred freedoms upon which America was founded have been forsaken by the traitors who have done all they can to trample and destroy our endowed rights; those same rights, freedoms, and justice that have made America the beacon of hope and leader of the modern world.
So, let's not let the supporters of yet more Neo-Con treason, albeit absurdly "wrapped" in the guise of "patriotism", de-rail well-meaning citizens by spewing more of their suspicion, hatred, and division, all in a last-ditch attempt to continue their control. True Americans love liberty, fairness, and justice, because they trust in the general good ("In God We Trust") to transcend us above the lower instincts of distrust, fear, and suspicion, which always leads away from truth and justice. For shame, Daily Journal; you can (and you owe it to your readers to) do better than this.

I think the guy has a point, but once again, if it isn't anything positive about Obama it's 'a lie' or 'a smear'.
If you really take an objective look at what we do know about Obama and his associations, it does raise eyebrows.

I bet most of the posters never heard of the Community Reinvestment Act let alone why the stock market is in the trouble that it is in. Yet, Obama is gonna fix the economy.

The thing is, the more you DO learn about the guy, the more foolish you think his supporters are.

Here are a few things you have probably heard of:

'Knowledge is power'
'Actions speak louder than words'

Now, you follow those to phrases and start researching:
-Obama and the CRA (Community Reinvestment Act)
-Who is Jim Johnson?
-Who is Franklin Raines?

...and you will slowly be on your way to understanding (and this doesn't even get into Rev. Wright and Ayers).

The main stream of libel media decided that it is not in their best interest to dig out Obama's questionable past to give the America an intelligent choice. Hate is alive and well in the United States. Good thing it's a small minority of the people. It's really scary. These are the same people who claim to be righteous god fearing people. They should be god fearing. Hell is full of them. Amazing!!! You want to know who Barack Obama is? Turn off the Fox News channel and read something and become informed. Obama was introduced to the Nation during the 2004 keynote address at the democratic convention. He's been vetted for the past two years on every TV channel in the United States. He's been written about in every Newspaper in the United States for the past two years. There's probably no other person in the United States that's been vetted more than Obama. I repeat, turn off that Fox (hate filled news channel) once in a while.

Does Minnesota really need more ignorant people writing and saying ill-informed hit pieces about Barack Obama? I'm in New Jersey now, but most of my family still resides in Minnesota and I'm sick about all the low-information, hateful bigots that keep popping up on the news radar. One question: The birth certificate in the links appears to be computer generated (in 1961?). It also is not signed. I was born in Cincinnati in 1974 and all the filled in information on my birth certificate is typed in with a typewriter. (It is also signed by the registrar of vital statistics.)

Financial Crises and the Way to Recovery

The term “shocking” can’t even come close to describe the severity of the financial crises that we are faced with. According to Barack Obama, the only way we can get out of this mess is for this country to adapt socialistic values and enforce socialism by gaining control of all three branches of government. I’m sure that the mountain of money his campaign has collected from domestic and foreign donors, names the Obama campaign won’t disclose, will be used for that purpose. As soon as total control is gained, organizations like ACORN will have a green light to further abuse the law to suppress free speech, control the outcomes of elections and brain wash children in schools to believe that socialism is the answer to all of our problems. With total control of the government, and help from people like Bill Ayers, Rev. Wright and Antoin Rezko, who will probably be pardoned, achieving the ultimate goal, “a life of sexual confusion and moral collapse” will become a strong possibility.
The proof that socialism, or spreading the wealth around does not work can be seen by examining ACORN and its accomplishments by manipulating bancs to make loans to minorities with bad credit. By using charges of racism and threats to use CRA to block business expansions, ACORN and Obama already contributed to the crises we are in today and finding new ways to distribute the wealth will only make the situation much worse. His idea to put a three-month moratorium on foreclosures will further weaken the already fragile banking industry and only benefit delinquent homeowners by allowing them to live rent-free.
In order for our economy to start prospering again, we first need to elect an honest leader who is determined to stamp out the corruption in government and to stop the leftist movement from destroying the middle class. The hard working people can no longer be expected to keep giving until they themselves have nothing left to give.

Let's use some common sense here. If any of these innuendos and rumors were true, the media would be all over them. NOTHING gets pasts the MSM when it comes to scandals, lies and headlines. If you're still in doubt, just look at all of the consservative pundits and figureheads who have endorced Barack Obama...Colin Powell, Arne Carlson, Andrew Sullivan, Michael Smerconish, David Brooks, Peggy Noonan, Scott McClellan...the list goes on and on. 154 national newspapers, some conservative, have endorsed him as opposed to 52 for McCain. This is real, people. Barack Obama is a solid candidated who's been vetted for 18 months by the national media and public. I KNOW who Barack Obama is and the public KNOWS who Barack Obama is. Jerry. I want you to try your last post on the 800,000 Americans now unemployed, most of them through no fault of their own. Or try it on the nearly 6 million Americans who have slipped from the middle class below the poverty line from 2000-2007; no doubt the number is substantially more now. The crack about working is just too stupid for reply. The only fiscal conservative we've had during the last two decades is Bill Clinton. If you look to the depressions and recessions in America, all or nearly all of them have happened with a Republican President and usually aided by a Republican Congress: Reagan, Hoover, Eisenhower, etc. Why is that? Because Republicans are so good at "redistributing the wealth" into the fewest fat cat hands possible so ordinary Americans are too strapped to do anything but spend on the bare necessities and now many older Americans are actually forfeiting medical needs to EAT.

Thank you, Tom and Sbecker for posting links for factcheck. Unfortunatley, some of the people that believe the silliness of the writers claims are not able to check these out.
I respect others opinions about either Obamas or McCains ideas, I am even thankful that we are able to discuss it freely however, I have a hard time with some of the ignorance I have been reading.
If anyone wants to show support for their candidate of choice, how about post a positive letter instead of bashing the opponent and spreading hate and fear? Write your own Letter to the Editor and let the people know about how to check these facts out. Get the good word out.

Another point, I am unemployed, thru no fault of my own, nor through any fault of my employer. I moved from a large house to a small apartment, downgraded my car, etc. I AM NOT VOTING FOR OBAMA!! In all fairness, I am only voting for McCain because Huckabee lost out in the primary. McCain is a democrat in disguise, but definetly the LESSER OF TWO EVILS. I miss Ronald Reagan. Pres Bush will be vindicated by history. How many of our GREAT presidents were hated during their time in office? Woodrow Wilson, Abraham Lincoln, et al.

minnesota has voted democratic for president since the 30s except for 3 elections. Yet OTC voted Bush both times. with Obama looking solid in minnesota i think even OTC may swing blue this year. but there are some ppl who just won't go that way and thats their choice. the truth is they see their guy is down so they are getting angrier and this helps them to buy into the fear based campaigning the republicans are famous for.
who is barrack obama? c'mon. he's a guy who put himself through school was the first black man to head up the harvard law review. a person who turned down lucritive job offers to try to help chicago communities. a guy who reads and tries to learn as much as he can. maybe we should try someone like that in times like these instead of voting for the guy we'd like to have a beer with and think we have most in common with. this isn't eharmony its the leader of the free world.

I find it extremely entertaining to read the opinions of uneducated people.

Right-wing fools who continue to use the same unwarranted attacks need to wake up and read a newspaper.

I don't understand how ANYONE IN THEIR RIGHT MIND could possibly support Sarah Palin stepping foot in our country's headquarters. McCain may know what he's talking about on the surface, but the simple fact that he's supported Bush at least 90% of the time (and admits to it) shows that not only would we be in for more of the same, but he proves to make things even worse by adding yet another inept fool, Sarah Palin, into the ranks. The ONLY reason she is his running mate is because she's female and McCain's team wanted to take advantage of the opportunity to brainwash people by making us think they're practicing equality. However, the simple fact that they don't support the American woman's right to choose what she will do with her body, their stance on gay marriage, their love of keeping the rich rich and the poor poor...well this more proves their stance on equality.

McCain will get votes for the same reason that people keep falsely attacking Obama. A large amount of people in our country have no interest in actually educating themselves.

The American way has never been described as stubborn and stupid. Obama will be our next president and the USA will begin the healing process, on our way to becoming the country and the world leader we're supposed to be.

Learn the facts before you vote. Otherwise you might as well be voting for the Green party because it's your favorite color.

I truly enjoy how the guy referring to Obama as "Obama Bin Laden" is trying to claim he knows what he's talking about, especially considering the large amount of spelling and grammatical errors in his posts.

Here's the thing about the clothes. It's probably a pretty safe bet to say that no one knowingly donated money to the McCain campaign thinking they would end up purchasing high-end fashion for a feeble soccer mom to appear professional and knowledgeable. Unfortunately, it didn't work.

If you are ignorant enough to not know who Barack Obama is or what he's about, you may as well stay home on election day. Fortunately, the majority of our citizens are well informed and will be electing Obama on Nov. 4th, because he is the right man for the job. New Corruption allegations could lead to an indictment of Norm Coleman.

Nasser Kazeminy is the Iranian born businessman that has been been flying Republican Norm Coleman around on his jet and apparently buying Norm expensive suits. So the question no one has asked is why Norm is palling around with someone from Iran, which we still have on the axis of evil.

Today we find out the Edina businessman Nasser Kazeminy has been accused of secretly funneling $75,000 through a Houston-based oil-rig servicing company, Deep Marine Technologies, to Laurie Coleman, Norm Coleman's wife.

The DFL issued a statement tonight, saying, "The allegations of criminal behavior are serious and deeply troubling... Senator Coleman has a duty to explain why those allegations aren't true."

If these new accusations are true Norm Coleman could be the next indicted U.S. Senator. Looks like Senator Ted Stevens may be getting a cell mate.

The term “shocking” can’t even come close to describe the severity of the financial crisis that we are faced with. According to Barack Obama, the only way we can get out of this mess is for this country to adapt socialistic values and enforce socialism by gaining control of all three branches of government. I’m sure that the mountain of money his campaign has collected from domestic and foreign donors, names the Obama campaign won’t disclose, will be used for that purpose. As soon as total control is gained, organizations like ACORN will have a green light to further abuse the law to suppress free speech, control the outcomes of elections and brain wash children in schools to believe that socialism is the answer to all of our problems. With total control of the government, and help from people like Bill Ayers, Rev. Wright and Antoin Rezko, who will probably be pardoned, achieving the ultimate goal, “a life of sexual confusion and moral collapse” will become a strong possibility.
The proof that socialism, or spreading the wealth around does not work can be seen by examining ACORN and its accomplishments by manipulating bancs to make loans to minorities with bad credit. By using charges of racism and threats to use CRA to block business expansions, ACORN and Obama already contributed to the crises we are in today and finding new ways to distribute the wealth will only make the situation much worse. His idea to put a three-month moratorium on foreclosures will further weaken the already fragile banking industry and only benefit delinquent homeowners by allowing them to live rent-free.
In order for our economy to start prospering again, we first need to elect an honest leader who is determined to stamp out the corruption in government and to stop the leftist movement from destroying the middle class. The hard working people can no longer be expected to keep giving until they themselves have nothing left to give.

today I received 5 mailings telling me Frankin and Obama are pro abortion from the republican party of Minnesota.

when I was employed by the republican national committee during the early 1990's, it was my job to call people and prompt them to get out and vote about abortion laws.
the thing that may not sit well with those of you who believe the republican party actually cares either way concerning pro-life is this.
the first half of the day we called and encouraged people to support laws banning abortion while the second half of the day we called those same people back to persuade them to go out and vote against any laws that would restrict abortions.
the republican party deliberately keeps the abortion rights arguments going for political gain.
Obama voted against a bill that had a "right to life" clause added in , but would have jeopardized the lives of mothers because, it was and is already the law and responsibility for the Doctors in that state to keep a baby alive who survives abortion.

the Republican party finances both side of the abortion issue only so they can cast anti-christian claims on opponents.
these deceptive tactics have destroyed too many lives, and the end result is only eternal conflict.
the GOP will never close the door on abortion.
no presidential candidate is in favor of abortion.

Let me also say that John McCain's concession speech last night was very graceful and quite inspiring as well. I feel like if the man we saw last night would have been the man campaigning for him for the last year he might have actually had a chance to win.

We have chosen to give you the reins of our country for the next four years. Perform well and you may have another 4 after that.

I have every confidence in you and your party to turn this economy in the right direction, and to create jobs for the american people.

I urge you to be cautious about our mulitary and foreign affairs, please consult others with more experience in such things, and learn from the mistakes of Clinton and Carter.
