Vote yes for Clean Water, Land and Legacy Amendment

Published Monday, October 27, 2008

Minnesota's abundant natural resources make up the fabric of this great state.

Unfortunately, because of increased urbanization, wetland drainage, forest and grassland losses, and continued pollution of our precious water resources, the natural beauty that defines Minnesota is in serious jeopardy.

This Nov. 4, however, Minnesota residents have the opportunity to help save what makes our state great.

The Clean Water, Land and Legacy Amendment will provide funding for clean water, fish and wildlife habitat, parks and trails.

I will vote yes because Minnesota is unique. This amendment isn't about any one particular group, organization or special interest.

It is about our kids; it is about hikers, birdwatchers, snowmobilers, ATVers, bikers, swimmers, skiers, campers, anglers, and hunters — it is about Minnesotans.

It is about clean air and clean water, something every resident of this state can agree on.

Now is our chance to help protect and preserve the Minnesota we love.

That is why I will vote yes this Nov. 4.

How many times do we need to rehash this issue? This is about a constitutional amendment to raise taxes...vote no!

Got to agree with the repubs on this one. We already pay taxes for this! We buy hunting and fishing lisences, play the lottery, and have a state office of the DNR. Why do we need another way to pay for this. Seems redundant.

its not about the extra money. its about a flawed plan to amend the state constitution that even if it was to pass would be such a disorganized array that no one would know what was going on. vote no until they come up with something alot better, then vote yes. why not start at restructuring and redesigning the DNR.

I like green trees and bushes, and nice water for the fish and the ducks so i think you should vote yes.
