What’s the deal with Sarah Palin’s duds

Published Thursday, November 13, 2008

I’ve been reading about the Associated Press obsessing about Sarah Palin’s duds. What a corny piece to keep a reporter with a nose for news on the trail.

Are they now going to track down where Obama got all his white shirts for the past 20 months? Maybe we need to know if Michelle Obama orders her duds from the Lands End catalog. She did have an expensive lunch last month that might raise an eyebrow.

Room service for two at $447, which she signed for, seems more than any ordinary American citizen could afford to put on a charge card.

I wonder where some journalists learned what news stories are worthy of print? Apparently publishers think we’re interested.

I saw a story on Obama's wife, where she bought her dresses right off the rack, for approximately $140.00 each! Do a little homework before spouting off,Grace. They lost, get over it!

Also $447 compared to the tens of thousands they are writing about with the Palin's. A bit of a difference.

The big deal is the hypocrisy involved when one holds themselves out to the public as “Just plain Sarah” from Wasilla. Who gets her clothes from the local consignment store, just like the average Joe or in this case just plain Joe the plumber. When the truth is she was, a hillbilly with Champagne tastes when she thought no one was looking or when someone else was paying the bills. (sort of like redistributing the wealth) It was the same thing when John Edwards got his $400.00 haircut. I don’t remember any republicans coming to Edwards rescue.

capitalist palin destroyed herself in so many ways
and its been 7 years since the bush tax cuts , the economy is worse then ever , how long does trickle down take to work and how long are we expected to even attempt to believe such baloney ?????

Good grief people.
Palin's clothes were NOT purchased by her and she never shopped for them. The RNC had them waiting for her and her family when they arrived at the convention. And, she did not keep any of them.
On the Africa thing. Do you just read the news part time? That whole story was made up by a blogger (absolutely no truth to it) and was grabbed onto by the news as gosple.

Speaking of reading the news part time...
http://elections.foxnews.com/2008/11/13/...

"The hoax was limited to the identity of the source in the story about Palin -- not the FOX News story itself. While Palin has denied that she mistook Africa for a country, the veracity of that report was not put in question by the revelation that Eisenstadt is a phony."

Good Lord People! It's not that difficult to look something up BEFORE you write it.

BTW, is it technically a "smear" if it's true? If so, isn't a LIE somewhat more disgraceful than a "smear?" Just curious.

And just to clarify, the story was never that Sarah Palin went out and personally spent $150,000 on clothes. The story was (and always has been) that the Republican National Committee went out and spent $150,000 on clothes and accessories for Sarah Palin and her family. None of that has been proven to be false. I guess if someone wants to call it a "smear" then that's up to them.

If Sarah Palin is being smeared it is being done by members of her own party, the people who know her best.

I don't get it--it's the Republican party that is investing this whole thing with her clothes and making sure they are all accounted for so why be so angry with the reporters and Democrats?

It's the McCain campaign staff that is making derogatory remarks about her--her own party is "smearing" her. And she's taken some shots at them. Right now the Republicans are desparately looking for what direction to go in and who to lead them.

Sounds a lot like the Dem's four years ago to me.

Sarah Palin is a fraud and a liar. She's also dumber than a box of rocks. Good riddance!

Classic, Jerry! You sure do know how to stir the pot (aka be offensive) when you want to. LOL!

Hmm, so who would I rather have supporting and possibly advising our Commander-in-Chief... a Princeton University (cum laude) and Harvard Law School graduate who Jerry considers to be "no beauty queen" or someone who took 5 years and 5 different colleges to obtain her Bachelors degree in communications-journalism but who Jerry considers to "very attractive."

Personally, I believe a big part of what makes a man or a woman attractive is their intellect and in that department Sarah Palin is absolutely repulsive. I'm proud that most Americans stood up last week and showed that they don't think like you, Jerry.

I'm amazed and proud again. America made history toboot. The American People are a whole lot smarter than I ever gave them credit for. The Dems didn't just win. They tromped the Reps. The election was a landslide. 364 to 174 electoral votes. Wholly crap! It actually feels good to be an American again. The embarrassment of Bush, Jr. and Reagan is slowly drifting from my memory. Well, at least now we know which States are populated with all the really stupid people? I'm afraid there's no hope for them.

Mr_Lincoln, it's time you face reality!
there has never been a president or candidate that was pro-abortion.
the only people spending money to keep abortion legal are the Republican National Committee.
I know because it was my job.

Obama opposed a bill that would have endangered the lives of pregnant women.
this same bill had a right to life clause added for abortion survivors.
what people like Mr_Lincoln ignore is the fact that this right to life law is and was already law in the state the bill was being presented.
Obama only voted against endangering the lives of pregnant women.

should I create a bill that would legalize child pornography but add in that teens would be allowed to drink alcohol and then say everyone who opposed the bill wanted kids to die in drunk driving accidents?
it would be more honest than the Republican propaganda machine.
when you lie, you murder a part of all that has ever been.

Yep, pretty much figured that there would be quite a few nasty comments after this letter. You people still have no life even with Obama. Are you upset that Sarah Palin is getting more news coverage after the election than either Obama or McCain? You Betcha!

The more news coverage for Sarah P. the better for everyone except Sarah herself. I think she is the future of the republican party.
