Our doctors are great

Published Tuesday, November 25, 2008

I have to write a note about the wonderful professional expertise of our doctors and nurses in this town. They find and successfully treat hidden causes of diseases and sicknesses that could be easily overlooked by persons who don’t know us and our situations.

I am especially grateful for the careful research and care I have recently received here.

The Daily Journal is happy to host community conversations about news and life in Fergus Falls and the surrounding area. As hosts, we expect guests will show respect for each other. That means we don't threaten or defame each other, and we keep conversations free of personal attacks. Witty is great. Abusive is not. If you think a post violates these standards, don't escalate the situation. Instead, flag the comment to alert us. We'll take action if necessary. It's not hard. This should be a place where people want to read and contribute -- a place for spirited exchanges of opinion. So those who persist with racist, defamatory or abusive postings risk losing the privilege to post at all.

I wouldn't give too much heed to Mr_Lincoln's thoughts; if you could spell the physician's names correctly you might have a legit rant. But since you cannot, then get your facts straight.

If things are so wonderful, and I'm not saying anything bad about the docs, but why is so much sent up to Merit Care?? If the hospital has profits, shouldn't it be put into equipment so the people won't have to go somewhere else? Good thing we have that sports medicing building there. Money spent on that could have outfitted the whole hospital with updated equipment. But, like everything else in FF, it all revolves around sports.

As far as the docs- They are only as good as the equipment and technology they have avaliable to them. Most new docs out of school wouldn't know how to do most stuff with out new technology either.

They can purchase equipment but still have no MDs to use or interpret the information or intervention. Many of the people referred to larger hospitals are in need of specialized care which would not be cost effective to provide here.
MD recruiting is the first step to expanding or local healthcare.
