Woman arrested on drug charges

Published Friday, November 28, 2008

A Fergus Falls woman arrested Tuesday afternoon faces first degree controlled substance charges.

Julie Ann Burns, 48, Fergus Falls, was arrested after police and members of the West Central Minnesota Drug Task Force executed a search warrant on her property along the 500 block of West Maple around 4:30 p.m. Authorities found drug paraphernalia, signs of drug use and documents to support the sale of methamphetamine. Burns had also sold methamphetamine to an undercover officer, police said.

She is being held in the Otter Tail County Detention Facility.

The Daily Journal is happy to host community conversations about news and life in Fergus Falls and the surrounding area. As hosts, we expect guests will show respect for each other. That means we don't threaten or defame each other, and we keep conversations free of personal attacks. Witty is great. Abusive is not. If you think a post violates these standards, don't escalate the situation. Instead, flag the comment to alert us. We'll take action if necessary. It's not hard. This should be a place where people want to read and contribute -- a place for spirited exchanges of opinion. So those who persist with racist, defamatory or abusive postings risk losing the privilege to post at all.

3rd time offender, go figure. A system abuser also. She has been to prison twice already, perhaps the 3rd time will be a charm huh?

A dealer who keeps record of sales. Was she planning to pay income tax on it?

This is getting old! Three times now. When do they plan on locking her up for good??? Do we really need people like this in our town? It's clear she will never learn her lesson, so why keep letting out, I'd rather spend my tax dollars on knowing she's locked up than knowing she's out in our town doing this crap.

I think we all know she needs help and then to go free. And if we are smart we could put her on probation and drug test her. Then she could do drugs all week and stop right before the test. She could also keep selling to kids.Meth takes on to two days to leave your system.

Tax evasion: This is a felony and a conviction can carry a prison sentence of up to five years and/or fines up to $100,000.

All you need to do is look at her mug shot and you can tell by her beautiful complexion that she is a drug user. All the young ladies in Fergus Falls should look at that site and see how glamorous drug use is. It might deter a few.

Wonder if her brother will try to run off with the evidence in court again??

The person who tried to run off with her records was her husband at the time. Not her brother, and I don't think we need to worry about that because they are divorced. In fact, he just got out of jail before she got arrested.
