Jeff Hage is the managing editor of The Daily Journal. Jeff is an award-winning writer and photographer.

Jeff attended the University of Wisconsin- Eau Claire and was honored as the school's outstanding graduate in 1993. The school's student newspaper, The Spectator, was named college newspaper of the year by the Society of Professional Journalists under Jeff's leadership.

During college Jeff worked for The Spectator and the Augusta Area Times in Augusta, Wis. He started his career as the associated editor of the Mille Lacs County Times in Milaca, Minn. and later served as the managing editor of The Madisonian in Winterset, Iowa and the managing editor of the 17-paper Press Citizen chain in Des Moines, Iowa. Four of the papers Jeff started from the ground up. He also worked for the Tribune-Press Reporter in Glenwood City, Wis.

Jeff joined The Chippewa Herald in Chippewa Falls, Wis. as a reporter in February, 1998. He served as ports editor during the 2000-01 sports season before moving to Iowa. He returned to The Chippewa Herald in 2003, where he worked until joining The Daily Journal in August 2007.

While with the Chippewa Herald in Chippewa Falls the paper was twice named Wisconsin's best small daily by the Wisconsin Newspaper Association. Jeff has won numerous awards for his writing and photography in both Wisconsin and Iowa. He also took the Wisconsin Associated Press' "photo of the month' in October 2005 and the Minnesota Associated Press' 'photo of the month' in September 2007.

Jeff and his wife Kathy have three boys: Christopher, a sophomore at St. Cloud State University, Jason, 17 and Joshua, 13.
