Submitting engagements

Information typically included in engagements: Who’s announcing the event: Parents or the couple; community of residence for everyone; year of graduation from high school and college attended, along with course of study and year of graduation if it applies for the bride- and groom-to-be. Date and location of wedding.

A sample engagement:

Mallory Jean Skogen and Tyler Wayne Wolden announce their engagement.

Parents are Maurie and Laurie Skogen of Fergus Falls and Wayne and Lori Wolden of Wadena.

Mallory is a graduate of Fergus Falls High School and Northland Technical College, East Grand Forks. She is employed as a certified occupational therapy assistant at Knute Nelson in Alexandria.

Tyler is a graduate of Wadena-Deer Creek High School and the University of Minnesota, Crookston. He is the store manager of AT&T Wireless in Alexandria.

A Sept. 18, 2010, wedding is planned at Federated Church in Fergus Falls.

Deadline for the Lifestyle section is noon Tuesday for a Sunday publication.

Engagement photos should be e-mailed to lifestyles@fergusfallsjournal.com. JPEG format is preferred.

Photos are accepted in either color or black-and-white, though color is preferred.

Engagement announcements and photos are also posted online.

Cost is $10 and can be arranged by calling 739-7013, or including credit card information with the engagement information.
