Make the paper of a harder burning substance so that the individual smoking them has to draw harder to inhale. I wonder if somebody will get sued in twenty years after a study shows the implementation of this law caused the deaths of x amount more of smokers.

Standing with the members of a community to promote the well being of all and the individual, the Lions Club can not but show the indomitable nature of the human spirit in those that care.

Nanny state to the rescue! Certainly we wouldn't want corporations to create business without public tax dollars, who would think up such a communist thing, oops I mean capitalist thing. Its so hard owning a corporation, having to pay those darn workers, or workers wanting some type of remuneration for working, oh darn little tautology there, my error since as previous articles here have pointed out how quickly our workforce should be willing to adjust to forced wage deflation and the accompanying benefits loss. Tough love, as Dean Baker puts it, gets you right in the heart, those poor corporations, they need all the help they can get.

Within the terms set strictly by the drinking ordinance, it doesn't really do much. Except who determines 'willful' support for such activities? I don't understand the qualifying benchmark by which the police, sheriff or other prosecuting authority will bring an individual to criminal proceedings or action? An adult who doesn't know of such activities cannot be held accountable as I read this, or are they? It's slightly ambiguous.

Hey city council stop debating some ridiculous ordinance, another large, long term employer in Fergus is going to leave, schucks missed that I guess. Oh well, only blue collar. Not like we didn't get ACS, no jobs have been from journal archives been generated by it or how about 2 new banks in Fergus in the middle of an economic depress...oops I mean downturn. Who needs blue collar jobs. Banks and tech jobs. Plenty of work at minimum wage for those at Banner employees with what I'm sure will be severance packages equally at least to 1/10000th of there CEO's annual salary, or bonus, or stock options.

Well if jobs are disappearing here, and going to China, maybe we could press the 'soon to be but we can't say because it's all secret and not ready to discuss yet' business college at the RTC to employee the Banner employees being kicked out. Sounds like a fair trade.

Pork by this name is still the same. And I'm still looking for and certain will find the legal authority that allows the state to use the funds for whatever they wish in times they classify as 'need' be this an amendment or not. The federal government has had no problems in avoiding constitutional privileges with executive and congressional laws, the state certainly is not going to have a problem.

I enjoyed the story. Your description of paying with cash is interesting, as it reminds me of those ridiculous Mastercard ads that tout using a debit card when purchasing, as using cash or check implies you are some type of idiot or demonstrable human being to so inconvenience others.
