It is a very touching story about Justin and the community. But also very sad that only $0.03 of every dollar on average that the community raised will go to research specific to Justin's disease. (Duchenne) Although, Duchenne makes up over 50% of the MDA's constituency, it only gets about $8 million dollars of its $150 million budget for research. The MDA's total research budget is around $30 million funding 400 locations averaging about $78 thousand per location. Not a very effective or targeted method of resolving genetic issues.
