I hope Eunice Digre's seminar on Guardianship includes a lenghty discussion of guardianship abuse -- now a national epidemic and only to get worse with the Baby Boomers coming into guardians' radar.
A guardianship Ward is stripped of all rights, including the all important right to complain. Without the right to complain, helpless Wards find themselves victimized by the very people who are supposed to be protecting them.
Guardians and their attorneys get rich --- guardianship Wards are driven into Medicaid. Taxpayers then pick up the tab for the Ward's care while the guardians and attorneys are out living the high life.
For more information on guardianship abuse, visit the National Association to STOP Guardian Abuse at www.stopguardianabuse.org.
Please warn elderly and vulnerable people of the predator out to steal their retirement, life savings, and sometimes even their lives.
Yours,
Elaine Renoire
