Back in the 70's when speed limits were reduced and retrictions on the use of Christmas lights all to save energy also? This time around appears to be linning the pockets for oil people. Some folks it is barely a noticed in their budget. Will it make such a difference for some folks that providing a prom dress or playing in a sport be very difficult maybe for some it will not happen? There is only so long that my furnace man or Walmart will absorb the price of gas it will all trickle down to me- every product or service I need. Not just at the pumps. How can this happen? What can we do about it? What does this do to our schools budget? In the mean time, I will certianly, like you, try to see what I can do in my life to conserve.

On Driving demands some priorities

Mechanic shops have workers in it-do you want your car fixed? A coal miner mines the coal so you can have power. Using workers health just isn't a good argument.

On Government has to be involved

Thank you for seeing this as to much Government retrictions. "Outdoor patio is ok to smoke in but no employees can go out there to serve customers"??????
Are we so worried about the health of grown adults choosing where they want to work? Frankly if you don't want to work in smoke who applies for such a position? That argument has always seemed like a useless debate. What about auto mechanics they are in exhaust and chemicals or coal miners that mine the coal for Otter Tail Power so we have electicity in our homes. They are allowed in their shops and in their mines. Thank you I agree with you that Government restrictions can be to much.

I think if business owners were convinced that making some changes will increase satisfaction and their checkbooks they would really want to please their patrons, 100% of the time. I am just saying lets do it that way instead of another Government law dictating. If we can't take care of some of these things on our own where will it end.
Does the smoking law really matter to you as much as smokers are getting there way and plus they are just uneducated and poor anyway? Shame on you seems your looking for a stage to shout from. Lets just be nice and think good of people and our business owners, they really will listen to their customers, guarenteed, because they are in business for profit!!

On Smoking ban bill still needs work

I think Jerry and Dubliner what some folks mean is that we the people and business owners are concerned about loosing our freedom to make some decisions we should make on our own. When will it end. If business owners are given the choice to have smokeing or not then we the people also keep our choice to go their and/or work their.
