After reading all of the comments, I can’t help but noticing that I see hate in some comments and love in others.

If you have never tasted an apple, that doesn’t give you the authority to describe how the apple tastes.

I really enjoy reading the comment sections.
I do learn a little more depth from the comments about the story.
It’s just too bad, just like in everything else, a few bad apples with negative attitudes ruin it for the whole bunch.
I can brush those folks off so I say keep the comment section.

We're paying $4.18 a gallon for regular gas here on Maui. In the remote coastal town of Hana, the price was around $4.55 a gallon. Our cereal is at $7.00 a box. Milk is over $5.00 gal. I walk 1.6 miles to work. I guess it's the price you pay to live in paradise. I think these gas prices are called "conditioning". They're just getting us used to high prices and then when they go down, we'll be happy with $3.50 gal. How long do you think it'll take to start drilling in ND?!

fergusnative,
I am impressed with your response. Very mature, humble, and didn't fly off the handle. Really... I am impressed.

Just once.... just once... I’d like to read a story without someone making a comment at the end like the one above…. Just once...
(I had to go to MS Word and write this message first for fear of spelling something wrong)

Hey Tom!
Now that we're talking about playing in below zero temps, what's your opinion about Minnesota building an outdoors park?
And yes, I miss the foot switch on the floor. It was cheaper to replace!
Take care buddy,
Bill

Staying in the Non smoking section?
That would be the same as trying to swim in the non peeing section. It's impossible.

Dear eagle-eye,
After moving to Maui 6 years ago, I have really enjoyed reading the Journal on line. It's fun for me to see what's going on "back home". But I get so tired of reading critical comments at the end of each story. It seems that almost every article I read has a negative slam at the end of it. Do you have to do this?
I have learned in life that we do not know others motives so please understand that I'm only looking for an answer, not criticizing you. Please forgive me if I have mistakenly taken your intensions wrong and forgive me if I misspelled a word wrong.
