I'd like to thank Representative Nornes for his years served and I'm happy to see he is still willing to serve. He will receive my vote.

My sympathy to all that are involved. As a motorcyclist, I always stress to other riders the importance of taking the Motorcycle Safety Foundation training. See the following link, http://www.motorcyclesafety.state.mn.us/...
and schedule up a training class, even if you just ride a scooter. They have advanced classes for experienced riders. Most motorcyclists on the road are not capable of performing simple evasive manuevering. The MSF teaches these techniques as well as defensive riding. As seen here, the costs of making a mistake can be your life.

I will ask again. Can someone in the know tell me who owns the power plants and transmission lines? It would seem commissioner Reha, Pugh and O'Brian think the government does. As O'brian stated, “If the roles are reversed, if we had lines in place, would we go to South Dakota and say, ’You have to locate your power plant at the end of our lines?’ I don’t think we would do that,” Last time I checked, neither Minnesota or South Dakota owns no utilities.

Furthermore, Reha's statement, “We’re put in the position that somehow because of the transmission, we have the ability to block their plant,” is mind boggling. Someone should explain to Reha that utility companies have to have customers to sell their product to.

Finally, what's wrong with a coal-burning power plant? I expect that it would be plenty clean. If we don't have adequate power available, we will end up with costs shooting up just like they have with petroleum. Some say it will increase global warming. How long does this cooling trend the earth is in have to last to disprove this piece of bad science?

PS: Somewhere off in the distance a little chicken is running around saying, "The sky is falling!". Nobody can hear her because there is a big guy running around saying, "Global warming!..."

On Big Stone II ruling delayed

Somebody in the know, please help me out. After reading (and re-reading) Reha's, Pugh's, and O'Brian's comments I have to ask, who owns the power plants and transmission lines?

It would seem to me that those three commissioners think the states do. I thought these utilities were owned by the power company. Maybe I'm wrong.

Furthermore, after reading this statement by Reha, "We're put in the position that somehow because of the transmission, we have the ability to block their plant," it is obvious she has no concept of business.

I like affordable electricity and I hope and pray that this is cleared up soon, before bureaucracy causes electricity rates to follow the path the petroleum industry has taken.

Giving these students a tour was an excellent idea! I'm sure they will be proud of their new school. Judging by the picture and the comments from the students, they found it to be an excellent idea too. I've met Michael Beach and he is a consummate professional with the highest of standards. Those students received a good lesson in real life on that tour.

To ghostly_1,

I couldn't have written what you wrote any better, and I would add:

Love God and keep His commandments and you will be blessed. Hate God and don't keep His commandments and you will be cursed. Who's trying to take God out of our society?

I understand this is a government subsidised operation. It can't run on what it is generating.

I'm sorry to say, I do not see these buses as being effecient. I spend a lot of time on the road and see these buses often. There is usually only the driver or the driver plus one passenger in the bus. It is the same down in Grant County.

I would rather see the government issue coupons that riders could use with the existing taxi services, including Care-A-Van, which use smaller vans that get three times the m.p.g. instead of funding People's Express.
