Unless things have changed in the last couple of years. The county fair auction is simply an auction where the bidder's money goes to the exhibitor, you don't actually buy any animals. Generally area businesses show up and support the kids in the 4-H program and a percentage of the money also goes to the county 4-H program. So Jenna won't have to say good-bye to any of her animals on Saturday.

To suggest that God would send us these storms that have resulted in many deaths and great losses as a message about bringing George Bush to justice is absurd. Besides other parts of the world have recently experienced much worse storms than the United States. Weather happens, I refuse to believe that God uses the weather to send us messages about our political leaders.

Franken looked back on his taxes and noticed the mistake. The IRS never came after him. He found the mistake and is fixing it, sure he should've realized the mistake before it happened but at least he's being honorable about it now by fixing it.

While I agree that it's maybe not quite right for the city to give them the money. I think raising rates is an even worse idea. The end result would be even more people leaving Pebble to go to other area courses that are much more affordable. Personally I go to Tipsinah by Elbow Lake. I live closer to Pebble but Tipsinah costs half as much for a membership.

My understanding of this "failure" to pay taxes in these 17 states is that he simply reported all of his income in one state each of those years. As a result he paid way too much income tax to the state he reported in while not paying any to the other 17 states. I commend him for going back and fixing his errors. How many politicians would openly admit a mistake wsa made and take the steps to fix it instead of trying to cover it up and hope nobody ever notices. In my opinion we need more politicians with that moral character.

Anybody else notice how much of a "yes man" Coleman was for Bush up until he started to campaign for re-election? Now he's desperately trying to distance himself from ol' George W. I know Franken doesn't have the experience but I'd still rather see him in office than another six years of Coleman.

Joel really needs to do a little research on his great FF Otter girls basketball players. He left out many deserving names. Hannah is a great player, don't get me wrong, but Amanda Lewis is an equally important cog in the Otter machine.
We need only look in recent history to the team that had Holicky and Erlandson to see a deserving team and a couple of names left out of Joel's article. I believe that Holicky held all those records that Draxten has now and that was in shorter games and in fewer years.
