See, any breed of dog can be dangerous!

Just last week my sister in law and her husband were chased two times by the neighbors pitbull by Pelican Rapids, the sheriff was called out to make a report, and was called to the neighbors house for the same reason, same dog chased the lady into her house. I love dogs, all breeds, they all deserve a chance, but when a dog of any breed attacks anything, livestock, or human, something needs to be done with the animal, once they have started to be agressive towards other living things, it gets on a power trip, and won't stop. If they are with other dogs, they can also get the others to join in with them. Last summer on my sons 3rd birthday, our lab cross attacked our uncle, and had to be put down, he wasn't known for being aggressive, but we weren't takin the chance of him doing it again. What if it were a young child? Or some older person who can't kick them off of them. They have jaws that can bite with tons of pressure. All of you who are pro pitbull, you have the right to be, but if you got chased by one, or someone or something you knew was attacked by one, you just might be a little more understanding to those who don't like the breed. Everyone on this website,Don't jugde others for their opinions. It's only human to be scared of a dog or any animal, of any breed, if it is known for attacking.

Any large vehicle that requires a certain license must have a log book for mileage. To and from, miles put on, hours rested. I think they should put a new law into effect that requires all passenger carrying vehicles, like buses, mandated to go to the scale like the 18 wheelers do and have a log book check. This would prevent many many accidents! True, truckers do sometimes lie on the log books, but only because of the demands of products the average american puts on them! If it weren't for Truckers, we'd be without 90% of our goods!

We used to live out on the broken down dam road, Mt. Faith, and the traffic on that road is insane! Young or old, we busted them all driving like they were invincible! In 2000 a young man was killed from striking a tree, and a few years prior to that, my sister was almost hit by a speeding car. I think some roads people think that the signs that have speed limits on them mean minimum speed. The streets on the edge of town are the worst ones. They need to be patroled more than the streets in town.

Like I said, this needs to be cleaned up, on both ends!

Not many of you knew this, but a few years back, we lost a very successful, local man who raised winning Thoroughbred horses. John Sullivan from Sullivan's Dead Lake Ranch, bred, trained, and raised beautiful Thoroughbreds, and one of them came from one mentioned- Secretariat. John lived, loved, lost a daughter, while living his dream of a thoroughbred horse breeder. He was very very successful, and prior to his retirement, sold one of his studs to the former MN Vikings-Mo Williams, whom traveled to Dead lake to buy his new race horse! My father in law was the farm hand for the ranch, and if any of you ever get the chance to have the experience to be in the presence of these magnificant Giants, you will be awe strucken at their beauty, strength, and determination. It takes one heck of a person to devote his life to these animals. It's too bad that some of these horses are pushed to their deaths, like that of the filly who was euthenized on the track. When trained correctly, these horses can handle just about anything.

And to think we swim in lakes that have these big fish! Urban legend from around here is that a boy was taken from close to shore, then let go, by a muskie on Battle Lake!
So when you feel something nibbling on your toes it might not be them pesky sunnies!!
