I believe the sign is meant to make the people who come to steal actually THINK about what they are doing. If you don't have a guilty conscience, then there is no reason for you to get so upset, knowing why the sign was posted.
Also, in my previous entry, I did NOT criticize the entire community!! Read again!!! I even THANKED some members of the community! What I wrote was geared to those who can do nothing but find fault with some people who were trying to do something NICE for the community! As for the Boen's, they are not pointing their fingers at you....if you are one of the honest ones.
Often times, it is those who are guilty who make the most noise. If the shoe fits, wear it. If not, then put your energy into making things better for everyone rather than being so angry. That doesn't help the situation at all.

I can't believe the rudeness of some of the comments here!! Mark and Diane have worked extremely hard, and have done a wonderful service for the community of Fergus Falls for many, many years! It has worked out very well, until the past few years. How dare any of you speak with such indignant remarks toward them!!! Thank you for those of you who have been supportive of their efforts by either purchasing, or by your supportive comments here. For those of you who have not walked one day in their shoes, and find it necessary to critize them....you should be ashamed of yourselves.

3 years ago, I came to Fergus for my dad's funeral. I was living out of state at the time. I arrived several days early so I could spend time with friends. I became ill, and ended up having to go to the emergency room. Before I knew it, I was assigned to a hospital room and was hooked up to multiple IV's. The remainder of my stay was in the hospital, and actually had to get a pass to get out to attend the funeral.

No one could diagnose me. No one knew what was wrong with me. It was recommended that when I get back the state I was currently living in, I have more tests. They confirmed that there something wasn't quite right, but couldn't tell me what was wrong either.

I had no insurance. The state I was residing in wouldn't help with the bills, because I was hospitalized in Minnesota. Minnesota wouldn't help me, because I lived in a different state. I ended up with nearly $17,000.00 worth of medical bills, the majority from the hospital.

I have not had the money to pay the bill. I am being chased by lawyers, and my wages are being garnished.

To add insult to injury, I developed a blood clot in my leg. I tried to set an appointment at the clinic, and was refused because of the money I owed them. I was so angry! I said "So I could die, and no one would care, is that right?" Her response? "I'm sorry ma'am. Unless you can pay the balance you owe today, there's nothing we can do." There was no point in going to the emergency room in Fergus Falls since they would expect me to follow-up with a doctor appt., which they wouldn't give me in the first place. I had to go somewhere else.

I'm just thankful I'm still alive today.

Let me tell you a little about a $300,000.00 home I had to help clean after the "tenant" left. (a woman who is a trained professional) There were at least 4 dogs, and an unknown number of cats that co-habitated with the residents who lived there. There were cats living within the walls, and got in there because of the holes that were punched in by the tenants. There was cat feces in the kitchen sink, the bathtub, on the stove, in the cupboards, to name only a few places. There were children living in this house!!! One of the rooms was so bad, that we literally had to take a shovel to it. The damage was unbelievable. And what was the mother's occupation? She was a PHARMACIST!

It doesn't matter WHERE you live, it matters HOW you live. I am so sick of judgemental people who think they are so much better than others! It is very common for people who have many of their own character defects that find it so necessary to put others down in attempt to make themselves look better. What they don't think about, is how transparent their efforts are. They have just lowered themselves even further. Good Job.

I happen to live in a mobile home, and am not the least bit ashamed of that. It is clean, well kept, and very nice looking inside. I've seen people who live in high dollar homes who live like pigs. You people who have to cast such rude and unfeeling comments are the ones I truly feel sorry for. There is absolutely no excuse for that kind of behavior.

This is such a complicated issue. I will share my experiences, and reasons why I personally have a difficult time accepting abortion. I married someone several years my senior. He had been married once before, and had a vasectomy. We wanted to raise a family together, but because of our age difference, would have a difficult time adopting. He had a reversal operation, and it is only by the grace of God that I got pregnant. Our chances of having a child were slim, about 10%. We were blessed with a beautiful baby girl.
When she reached her teen years, she had a definate tendancy to walk on the wild side, and became pregnant at the age of 16. I had 2 members of my family tell me that I should take her to the nearest abortion clinic because she was walking into a disasterous situation. There is no way that I could do that, nor would my daughter even consider it. Another option was adoption, though neither one of us could handle that emotionally. She went through with the pregnancy, and gave birth to a baby boy. I'm very proud of her, AND the father. He stuck right by her, determined to be there for his son. They are married now, and have 2 beautiful children who are so very, very precious to them, and to me!! I can't imagine life without them.
I truly believe that even though it is not what I would have chosen for her at that time in her life, her pregnancy was a miracle. My daughter was on a very rough path, and it totally turned her life around.
Please understand that I am fully aware that things don't always work out this way. I am simply relaying our experience. The point is, that everytime I spend time with my grandson, I thank the Lord that he is here, and shudder when I think of what the alternative could have been.

The pregnancy rate in teenagers is astonishing. I think that because abortions are so easy to obtain, the kids are careless, and view abortion as an easy "fix". It makes me cringe.

In thinking about this issue, I guess I would have to say that if a pregnancy is life threatening to the mother or if there is medical proof that there is a severe problem with the child, I can understand abortion. I can also understand it in the case of rape or incest. Other than that, I simply can't condone it. There are too many loving couples out there who want children.

I remember ever so clearly when my daughter was 3 years old, boiling potatoes to be used to make mashed potatoes. Trying to share this moment with her, in an effort to start enlightening her to the art of cooking at a young age, I picked her up and held her so she could see the water rolling in the kettle and the potatoes as they cooked. Quite to my surprise, this little 3 year old going on 30 proceeded to say to me..."That's not how you make mashed potatoes!". I asked her "How are you supposed to make them?" She rolled her eyes at me, and said "FROM A BOX!!!"
Gee...I'd never thought of that! HAHA (I hate instant potatoes!!!)

Perhaps some of you have never had to do without. It's nice to see someone who has an open attitude of gratitude for what people like you seem to take for granted. Have you nothing better to do than continuously put someone down? That's all I ever read from you, and that is pathetic.

This article was great. It's nice to know that there are people out there who still hold onto tradition, especially at Christmas time, which we celebrate because of the most precious gift our Lord gave to us. He gave us his Son, Jesus Christ, who came to bring peace, joy, and most importantly, Salvation..to those who believe in HIM. For those who choose to make a mockery of such things, I feel sorry for you.

Venti.....give me a break. When someone takes a drink, they intend to drink. If they are out at a bar, and don't have a designated driver, they obviously intend to drive after they have been drinking. They know that alcohol impairs judgement. They know it is against the law to drive while intoxicated, but it doesn't matter to them. It is just as irresponsible as any other drug crime.
