It would be nice to see a story detailing how and where the trails are going to connect.

My opinion of the value of being able to comment on stories differs from the one offered by Duke. In my view, the subjects of these stories are missing a great opportunity to state their position for all to see. They can post comments, anonymously or not, in an unedited form and without risk of being misquoted. To my way of thinking, they'd have a better chance of clarifying their position to us here than they'd ever have to those that "discuss" over coffee at the local rumor mills.

Granted, there are a relatively small number of posters, and many of them misuse this forum and are easily ignored, but who knows the numbers that read the comments?

We've all seen Jamie Cooper use this forum, and whether you agree with him or not, he understands the use and its potential.

I didn't illude to anything, whatever that is. I have reread my post, and feel I haven't even alluded to anything that wasn't stated in the original article. I understand things of a legal and financial nature, and appreciate the input of both bucksteel and number6. It may be best to discuss the article instead of each other, we've already got three people involved, maybe there are more with thoughts.

On Time will cure the Blue Heron

I was so shocked by the editorial that I forgot to include a link to the relevant article. This article should have carried the headline "Scam Hits Otter Tail County". http://www.fergusfallsjournal.com/news/2...

Doesn't the editor even read the articles written by their staff? The article written by Mr. Hintgen was very clear that the crook(s) behind Blue Heron Bay were elated that the bank had foreclosed on the property. Mr. Erickson of Blue Heron Bay was almost crowing about how he was "going to conserve their cash and let the bank carry the debt" with the stated intent of redeeming the property. They didn't fail in Otter Tail County, they just don't have the 'nads to take something less than the windfall they had anticipated.

Normally, before foreclosure proceeds something has to make it happen, like not making the payments you agree to make. Here's an outfit that sold a bit over 50 acres from the parcel to the State of Minnesota for something near $1.5 million recently, and still missed payments..............no better than a shoplifter at WalMart thinking "well they won't miss it...."

What a band of greedy crooks they are. To stand ready to realize huge profits if all goes as planned, then when the market drops, back away and "conserve their cash and let the bank carry the debt" with the stated intent to redeem the property is criminal. I think I'll try that on my home, but I guess that may ruin my credit since I'm not hiding behind an LLC.....hmmmmm. I hope the bank reads this article and can build a case of fraud against them on Erickson's quotes alone.

One would hope that the idea of further complicating the facilities issue by adding all the bricks required for a hockey arena at the middle school site has been scrapped.

It's a small thing, but it grates on my nerves when the wrong word is used in print. I know of cheese graters, road graders and greater Minnesota, but I wonder what a "skid with a road grater" looks like.
