Oh my word people! If the DJ had NOT provided this info, you would be all up in arms that they weren't reporting the facts and trying to manipulate a situation. Seriously people, I think the majority of you argue for the sake of arguing, no matter the subject.
Daniel has a good head on his shoulders, and it unfortunate that he has had such a burden cast upon him. Obviously we have a future productive citizen that will be an asset to society. Let's hope for more of these...

SO VERY SAD! My heart goes out to the Weishair's. We all need to stop and remember we have all the time in the world. One more night and then a drive home the next day would have more than likely saved a life.

I reviewed the statute and Elizabeth, you are misunderstanding the statute. Subdivision 3 EXEMPTS incarcerated persons from the MINIMUM child support requirement layed out in the prior paragraphs. In layman terms, this subdivision is giving incarcerated persons a free ride and they are not required to pay child support during their incarceration. As a person who has worked in the DOC I can speak with certainty that during the orientation phase of a new inmates incarceration they are advised that they can have their child support stopped during their incarceration as cjmajor 98 indicated. Unfortunately, this is very true...

"sweet minnesota-release of stuff that is not given is unlawful. Use your head"
UH OH... I don't know ,FFDJ, but that pretty much sounds like a personal attack to me...and not much of a "spirited exchange" but then again, they are defending you so I'm sure you will let that one slide.
Sweetminnesota-READ THE RULES!! The gestapo has spoken!

Typical Fergus Falls and FFDJ... don't like something, shut it down, forget the US Constitution and the rights that come with it. Unless you are Fergus elite that is...

Good...exactly what should happen with sex offenders.

WOW! Leabee, you are pathetic...making a generalization that ALL women can be very nasty and vindictive when they are pissed off at someone. Your comments about being fair on this one ARE laughable. Your anger issues shine through your words here, and makes me wonder what kind of person you are...you surely are not as reasonable, fair, and non judgemental as you are trying to make yourself seem. Unless you were there the night the rape took place at the exact moment, you have no idea what happened. So quit acting like you do. And yes I would feel horrible if I ever killed anyone and would never intentionally do so, just like I would NEVER intentionally DRUG someone and RAPE them. Tell me how his crime would be an accident? Nobody has said that they are going to lynch him the moment he walks out. Like I said before, it is up to him how he lives his life here on out. I HONESTLY hope that he is never involved in anything like this again. Do I want anything to do with this man, NO. Am I going to go out of my way to make his life hell, NO. Instead of taking on the "Peter George" fight, maybe you should start taking a look at your self. Obviously a lot to work to do there...

I don't know of many criminals, especially sex offenders, who don't cry that they have been "wronged" by the criminal justice system. They all say that everything was misconstrued, blah, blah, blah. MN is one of the most criminal friendly states in the US, our prisons are run like adult daycare centers and offenders get VERY FAIR sentences in this state. In fact, criminals have more rights than victims do. And your friend should have served way more than 7 years for this type of crime (especially since the State was "out to get him") If the State of MN states that he is a dangerous Level 3 offender, than he is. They don't give that label out often (and in my opinion, not as often as they should). Sounds to me like you are blaming the victim here, she may been a "crack whore" (your term, very classy I might say) but that doesn't mean that your friend should have been able to drug her and rape her. It doensn't matter how drunk or high she was, or what her son may have done, what matters is the moment your dear, sweet, wouldn't hurt a child, friend decided to rape her, HE COMMITTED A CRIME AND WAS PUNISHED. Was he punished enough, not in my opinion. Can he return to society and become a productive member? That's up to him. And as far as your comment about mistakes and how we all have made them just haven't been caught, yes, I have driven above the speed limit and not gotten caught, however, I don't drug people and then rape them. BIG DIFFERENCE!
