Post-run cancellation update

So I have discovered there is life after running, and it doesn't have to involve sitting on the couch. Over the last week, I have been finding other forms of exercise -- lifting weights, doing the elliptical machine, biking, rowing, swimming. All have proven to be very good exercise. I'm also convinced that doing a number of different exercises will mean being in better shape overall.
Swimming was especially grueling. Doing the "crawl" takes a lot out of you. I think I need some goggles, though.
I'm thinking of maybe doing a triathlon -- which combines swimming, biking and running. I have to have some kind of goal!
Hi Joel,
After the reunion, We moved into our townhouse in downtown Seattle. I walk 8 blocks each morning & afternoon to the hospital. Since August 30th I have lost 12 lb. just from walking. The food in our neighborhood is more Asian, Mediterranian and Vegeterian. We walk 5 blocks to the supermarket and most other stores in the neighborhood. I'm adjusting mostly to not owning a car anymore. LA out.
Hi LAgumball and Joel. :)
I have a pedometer from the school I work at, and they told us to aim for 10,000 steps a day. Well, apparently I pace around while I teach, because I end up with about 12,000 a day by 3 p.m. They are really cool though - on the days where I sit more than walk around, I know I should go out and exercise more after work.
LA - looking forward to vising you in downtown Seattle sometime!

You fire Bob Williams and come up with this blog?
Thank you James! I saw this blog in place of Bob's and immediately rolled my eyes and groaned. I should have known something different and interesting would be quickly replaced by something 'safe' for the old fogeys. Like I care how far you walked, pedaled or crawled. Boring!
Seriously, where's Bob?
