Seeing the Golden Dome

On a work trip, I had the opportunity to run through the Notre Dame campus. I was still feeling a bit sore from my 13-mile run Sunday, but knew I had to get back on the horse, and didn't want to miss the chance to run in shorts outside, and to see the golden dome.
It started out rough; I feared at first that I had developed a case of shin splints, and walked for a minute. It also didn't help that, to get to Notre Dame, I encountered heavy traffic. Once I got there, it was a beautiful sight -- the Golden Dome, the wonderful old buildings, a great little pond, and college kids all over the place, throwing frisbees, playing music, and bantering about. My soreness went away. I felt like I had been transported somewhere else.
Alas, I didn't want to push too hard, so I ended my fantasy run early, and headed back to the hotel. It was a few minutes of fun, though.
