Back on the horse

It's been awhile since I quit blogging. As many may have followed, I have blogged about everything from running to golf.
Some have complained that my blogging has been rather dull because it was so specific to a subject. That said, I have decided to blog about something everyone is interested in: their own health.
So for my series of entries, I thought I would talk about my quest to lose weight (the 76th quest in my life) by counting calories and exercising. Since I'm on this technology thing, I thought I would use a computerized calorie counter on my home page that allows me to plug in everything I eat throughout the day, and then adds up the calories.
All of this started from a bad day on Wednesday, Halloween, no less. My wife found a slip from a nearby convenience store which had the following purchases: one piece of breakfast pizza, one chocolate cake donut, and a carton of chocolate milk. Between that, a large lunch, lots of candy in the evening (it was Halloween, after all) a few beverages, and a rather short exercise period, she and I both knew I was in trouble for the day.
I also realized that, since I stopped running and exercising regularly last spring, my weight had shot from 205 to maybe 220. I would like to see it get back down to 197, which was my weight right before my half-marathon. We'll see how it goes.
