Cholesterol not in check

So I received my results from my cholesterol check the other day. While I can't remember all the numbers, the main level was 223, and it should be less than 200 to be within a healthy range. Of the four levels, I was in range on the two levels of good cholesterol, and out of range on the high cholesterol levels.
I have to admit I was somewhat disappointed. During the height of my half-marathon training and Adkins dieting following my dad's heart surgery, I had pushed my cholesterol level down to near 200, and my weight to below 200.
Now my cholesterol is 23 points higher than it should be, and my weight is 15 pounds heavier than it should be (and probably more).
All I can say is, thank goodness the holidays are over. It may be painfully obvious, but the Christmas-New Year's holiday -- with friends and family to entertain and unhealthy food in abundant supply -- is no time to change to a healthy lifestyle.
I have been good this week -- eating vegetables and fiber, working out intensely and basically every day. I haven't seen any results yet. My "thinner guy" pants still fit about as snug as they did two months ago.
I watched "The Biggest Loser" the other night, and was amazed by the fact that, during the first week, people were losing 15 to 20 pounds. Of course, I'm thinking they had had such an unhealthy lifestyle anyway that any change would yield big results. But it's still frustrating when I'm not really losing anything yet.
