Needing a netty pot
Posted by Kelley Gorman on February 24, 2009
I once had a good laugh at a commercial advertising what amounted to a small teapot you stick up your nose. It's called a netty pot, and as funny as it sounds, all weekend I was entertaining the idea of pouring warm water into my nose to try and alleviate the stuffiness. Not the best way to feel right before, how did I put it before, "Attempting to beat the socks off the other challenge competitors." Oh how the mighty have fallen. Read more and add a comment

Life Lessons
Posted by Lori Larson on February 19, 2009

The end of the beginning
Posted by Kelley Gorman on February 17, 2009
I completed my last workout for the fitness challenge this morning. I don't know about the other participants, but the weeks really went quickly. Faster than normal anyway, which is saying something during the worst part of the winter in which time can sometimes crawl. If I continue to work out twice a week, perhaps retirement will come in what feels like 20 years instead of the 40 I face now. Read more and add a comment
Making up for lost proficiency
Posted by Kelley Gorman on February 12, 2009
Given how much I have enjoyed the challenge and gained from it, and how little I've blogged about it, I've decided to make up for my technological ineptitude which kept me from doing this earlier and blog nearly every day until the end. A few more long and difficult sentences like that last one and I may not have any willing readers. Read more and add a comment
Confessions of a fitness flip flopper
Posted by Kelley Gorman on February 11, 2009
If you don't know who I am I might direct your attention to a few of the information pages the Journal has printed concerning the upcoming men's night. I'm the young guy at the weight machine struggling to bench about 85 pounds. This was early in my workout challenge. I'm now up to a staggering 95 pounds. Read more and add a comment

Well, the challenge is coming to an end. The athletes have about 2 weeks left of training to make the best of it. Most of them have been working hard and those putting in the effort will definitely see those results. It's been exciting to see these five people making ... Read more and add a comment
Words of wisdom...be careful what you think or say

Continuing to Push the Limits!
Posted by Natalie Knutson on January 12, 2009
Well the athletes are 4 weeks into their training and continuing to make progress. Each time they are here we push them to the limits, whether that be lifting a little more weight, tacking on 20 more seconds to a run or asking them complete one more repetition in the ... Read more and add a comment
