The American Cancer Society (ACS) Relay For Life of West Otter Tail County invites the community to help kick off the Relay For Life season on Jan. 15, 2020 at M State, Fergus Falls.
We’re launching this year’s season with an informational and planning meeting. Light refreshments will be provided. All are welcome to attend and learn about the event.
The Relay For Life movement continues to be the largest peer-to-peer fundraising event with 2.5 million participants globally uniting to save lives from cancer.
“The American Cancer Society Relay For Life is more than just an event to me. It is my personal opportunity to help save lives from cancer by supporting the American Cancer Society. My biggest reason to fight back against cancer is my son,” Darla of Fergus Falls said.
This year’s Relay For Life event will be held on May 15, 2020, at M State, 1414 College Way, Fergus Falls. The Relay For Life of West Otter Tail is an opportunity to celebrate people who have been touched by cancer, remember loved ones lost, and take action for lifesaving change. Since 1985, Relay For Life events have raised nearly $6.5 billion for the American Cancer Society.
ACS estimates that 1 of 3 people in the U.S. will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Funds raised at Relay For Life events help the ACS fund and conduct breakthrough research, and gives cancer patients and their families the resources they need, like free rides to chemo, free places to stay near hospitals, and a live 24/7 helpline for answers and support.
