Otter Tail County deputies responded to an early morning call on Monday to an unknown person entering a residence and yelling for help. Michael Norgren, who lives north of Elizabeth, contacted law enforcement at approximately 2:24 a.m. Norgren stated a man was yelling for help inside his home, it was later determined that the individual, 27-year-old Darren Lemke, was involved in an ATV crash on Norgren’s property. Lemke was found bleeding with substantial but nonlife-threatening injuries. He was transported to Lake Region Hospital by Ringdahl Ambulance for treatment. There was moderate damage to the ATV and Lemke was wearing a helmet at the time. No other people were involved in the crash and it is believed that alcohol may have been a factor. Charges are pending with the results of a blood draw. Check back with the Daily Journal as this story develops.
