A helping hand: Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls and its members helped collect donations for Mahube-OTWA. According to church officials, the donation drive was a success as it brought in several items to help low-income and elderly people living in Mahnomen, Hubbard, Beck, Otter Tail and Wadena counties.

During the month of April, Bethlehem Lutheran’s mission team collected donations for Mahube-OTWA, a community action agency in Fergus Falls. Mahube-OTWA is a private, nonprofit corporation governed by a volunteer board of directors representing low income, public and private sectors of the community. They provide services for low income and elderly persons living in Mahnomen, Hubbard, Becker, Otter Tail, and Wadena counties. The donations collected go to support people and families coming out of homelessness and going into housing and help people to achieve self-sufficiency.

The donation drive was a great success as many items were collected including bedding, laundry supplies, hangers and towels. Other items include toothpaste, toothbrushes, and personal supplies. Bethlehem Lutheran’s mission team was excited to be part of a very important event that can impact people and families as they start their new lives.
