It is important for all organizations to periodically reflect on their mission, beliefs, vision and practices. The Fergus Falls Public School District is taking time this year to do just that. Our goal is to gather feedback on what we do well and on what we need to improve on. The data collected will help us to establish a vision for Otter education.
As part of this process, the district has been administering a series of surveys. The staff have taken a district-developed survey which provided a great deal of useful information. Last week, our students in grades 3-12 participated in a survey in cooperation with the Minnesota Department of Education designed to provide us with data on what the educational experience is like as a student in Fergus Falls Public Schools.
Beginning Dec. 2, the district’s parents and guardians have an opportunity to participate in a similar survey specific to their experiences with the Fergus Falls Public School District. We will be utilizing a survey tool through MDE. Parents and guardians will have a window of time to participate in the survey between now and Dec. 20. We ask that a survey is completed for each building where a child is enrolled. Each survey will take approximately 20 minutes. A link to the survey will be emailed directly to parents/guardians.
We realize that this is an investment in time, however, the feedback that it will provide is extremely important as we look for ways to make the experience in our district the very best it can be. We are appreciative of everyone’s time and candor throughout this process.
Happy holidays and thank you for placing your trust in us!
Jeff Drake is the superintendent of Fergus Falls Public Schools.
