Erhard man killed in crash

At approximately 2:06 p.m., law enforcement and emergency personnel responded to the crash with injuries on County Highway 43, north of Riverview Road. The sheriff’s office said the driver and lone occupant of a 2021 Toyota Tacoma pickup had been traveling northbound on County Highway 43 when the pickup left the roadway and passed over an approach, striking a group of trees.

The driver, identified as Craig Alan Samp, Erhard, sustained undetermined critical injuries and was unresponsive at the scene. Samp was originally transported to Lake Region Healthcare in Fergus Falls by Ringdahl Ambulance, but a notification was later received that he had died.

In addition to the sheriff’s office, the Underwood Fire Department responded to the crash.
