Alyssa Johnson

Alyssa Johnson enjoys being active. As a personal trainer, Johnson works with her clients to get them in the best physical condition with her training knowledge and exuberant attitude. Just like how spring provides a refreshing relief from winter, Johnson keeps her clients’ workouts fresh as they pursue their fitness goals.

What do you do for a living?

I am a personal trainer.  I help people become stronger and in less pain.  My goal is to optimize the human body, no matter the starting point. I’m also an unaccredited therapist.

What brought you back to Fergus Falls?

My family.

What are you hobbies?

Working out, studying the human body.  Fishing.  Watching documentaries.  Capturing the life of my cats.  Longboarding.  Fishing.  Recently got into an herb garden (we’ll see how it pans out).  Cooking. Hanging with family.

Why do you love Spring?

Renewing life, increased energy in the air, less preparation time for going outside.

Are you someone that enjoys landscaping your yard and interior design or would you rather leave that to someone else and why?

I do enjoy it, however, I would leave it to someone else because the end result is not enjoyable for others.

How do you keep your workouts fresh?

By knowing my clients inside and out and adjusting their workouts accordingly.  I use a Square 1 System to reopen blocked neural pathways for my clients.  Then we challenge their nervous system a little more each time, and fix them again using the Square 1 System.  The same basic movement principles apply to everyone, that doesn’t get fancy, it’s the variables my clients come in with that I need to adjust to, small details in the workout, to keep them fresh.

What are my thoughts on this past winter?

It came and went just like the last years. I think I should have done more burpees in the snow.

What do you like about living in Fergus Falls/Ottertail County?

The lakes, family, and being away from big natural disasters

If you weren’t doing what you are doing now for work, what would you be doing?

Running an animal shelter, a PI, or trying to become a hip hop dancer.
