The Red River Watershed Management Board (RRWMB) is holding a drainage conference on Monday, Jan. 27 at the Marriott Hotel and Convention Center in Moorhead. The intended audience is public drainage authorities including watershed districts and counties in the Red River Basin of Minnesota. Several updates related to drainage case law, regulatory issues, technical matters and procedural matters will be given. The conference includes several speakers from law firms, local watershed districts, state agencies, and the private sector. Dan Money, administrator for the Two Rivers Watershed District said, “Drainage in the Red River Valley is essential, and Minnesota’s drainage law can be a confusing subject. This one-day conference will aid county commissioners, watershed district managers, viewers, drainage engineers and others to understand the laws, procedures, and challenges of managing legal ditches.”
Mick Kjar, farm director for 890 AM radio will broadcast live from the event and will interview speakers.
