The Fergus Falls football team recognized its seniors Friday as the Otters hosted the Pequot Lakes Patriots.The Patriots’ Bode Magnuson would lead the visitor to a 18-7 victory over the Otters.

After cancellations by two separate teams, the Fergus Falls and Detroit Lakes volleyball teams decided to faceoff Thursday at Kennedy Secondary School Gold Gym.  The Lakers would come out victories 26-24, 21-25-21, 22-25, 25-17, 15-10.

PELICAN RAPIDS — The hosting Pelican Rapids volleyball team came into Thursday’s game against the Frazee Hornets with a new offense and a few lineup changes. While the match remained close, the visiting Hornets would pick up the three-set win 25-20, 25-23, 25-19.

The Fergus Falls girls’ soccer team had its season cut short Tuesday as the hosting Detroit Lakes Lakers  topped the Otters 2-1 in the Section 8A playoffs.

With a very nontraditional 2020 football season,  the Underwood Rockets entered a new unknown. After a successful coaching career, former head coach Chuck Ross hung up his whistle after the 2019 season. 

There was once a young hunter who lucked into acquiring a very good dog many years ago. He knew what pheasants were and which kind were legal to shoot but not much more. Like the young woman he  married two months before, this was a gift he did not really deserve.
