Underwood multisport athlete Winston Heifort has already made school history once this year as a member of the Rockets’ first 11-man football team and state participant. Now with the basketball season in full stride Winston is hopeful the boys’ team will overcome some early hiccups in time for postseason play.

Q: How do you feel the basketball season is going?
A: We’ve had a pretty rough start but I feel like it’ll pick up toward the end of the season.
Q: What do you feel has been the biggest hurdle to success?
A: The littler kids have good coaches and hopefully they keep working hard when they come up and hopefully they have good seasons.
Q: What do you see for the future of the program after you graduate?
A: When we made it to state in football.
Q: What’s one memory from your sports career that stands out more than others?
A: We have to play as a team and we haven’t done that.
Q: As an athlete how would you like to be remembered here in Underwood.
A: As a hardworking athlete.
