ASHBY —The Ashby baseball team picked up a doubleheader sweep against the visiting West Central Area Knights Thursday.

BATTLE LAKE — In a meet at Balmoral Golf Course, the West Central Area boys’ and Otter Tail Central girls’ teams celebrated a meet win Thursday.

ELBOW LAKE — The West Central Area golf teams hosted Otter Tail Central, Hillcrest, Underwood, Ashby, Rothsay, Pillager and Border West in a home meet Thursday. The Knight boys would come away with a team victory, while the OTC girls’ team captured the girls team title.

ASHBY — Taking on the 19-0 Ashby boys’ basketball team in the Section 6A playoffs seemed like a tall feat for the visiting West Central Area Knights. But a strong shooting night and even stronger defense, the Knights upset the No. 2 (Class A) Arrows 61-38 Saturday.

ASHBY —The Ashby boys’ basketball team remained undefeated Thursday as the Arrows defeated the Brandon-Evansville Chargers 46-22 in the Section 6A playoffs.

ASHBY — The Ashby boys’ basketball team claimed the Little Eight Conference title Monday as the Arrows defeated LEC rival Brandon-Evansville 49-31.

ASHBY — The Ashby boys’ basketball team put the game into overdrive in the second half as they breezed past the Upsala Cardinals 76-48 Friday.

ORTONVILLE — The Ashby boys’ basketball team turned up the heat in the second half as they defeated the Ortonville Trojans 59-41 Tuesday.

Holding a lead at halftime Friday, the Hillcrest boys’ basketball team looked to do what so many others couldn’t. But the visiting Ashby Arrows got into a rhythm and rallied to upend the hosting Comets 55-47.

ASHBY — The Ashby boys’ basketball team grabbed the top spot in the Little Eight Conference Friday as the Arrows upended the visiting Parkers Prairie Panthers 61-48.

ASHBY — The Ashby girls’ basketball team was upended by the visiting Wheaton Warriors Thursday as the visitor claimed a  50-23 victory.

EVANSVILLE — The Ashby boys’ basketball team ran through Little Eight Conference foe Brandon-Evansville for a 60-35 victory Tuesday.

BATTLE LAKE — The visiting Ashby boys’ basketball team made quick work of the hosting Battle Lake Battlers Friday as the Arrows picked up their sixth consecutive win with a 79-44 Little Eight Conference victory.

GROVE CITY — The West Central Area/Ashby/Brandon-Evansville wresting team fell for the first time this season as they dropped a dual against Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa 45-24 and to Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City 43-25 Thursday.

ASHBY — In a showdown between Little Eight Conference rivals, the hosting Ashby boys’ basketball team proved to be too much to handle as they defeated the Rothsay Tigers 74-43 Tuesday.

UNDERWOOD — The visiting Ashby boys’ basketball team took control the game early on and coasted to a 61-23 Little Eight Conference foe Underwood Friday.

The West Central Area/Ashby/Brandon-Evansville wrestling team picked up a sweep in Tuesday’s triangular against United North Central (48-18) and Staples-Motley (63-15).

ROTHSAY — The visiting Ashby girls’ basketball team went on the road Tuesday for a Little Eight Conference matchup against the Rothsay Tigers. It would be the strong shooting of the visitor that led to a 51-43 Arrows win.

BARRETT — The West Central Area/Ashby/Brandon-Evansville wrestling team opened its season with a home triangular, picking up victories over Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton 43-18 and Breckenridge 69-9.

UNDERWOOD — The Underwood girls’ basketball team used a 28-point first half run to capture a 56-19 victory over the Ashby Arrows in a Little Eight Conference tilt Thursday.

The Ashby boys’ basketball team is excited to get back on the court after finishing the 2019-20 season with a 19-9 record. The Arrows return most of their team from last season and are ready to climb to the top of the Little Eight Conference.

The Little Eight Conference recently announced its conference volleyball awards. Brandon-Evansville went undefeated (6-0) in conference play and won the LEC title. The Chargers’ Bailey Schaefer was named conference MVP and head coach Kelly Olson received Coach of the Year honors.

ASHBY — The Rothsay volleyball team clipped Little Eight Conference foe Ashby 25-20, 26-24, 24-26, 25-20 Thursday.

GRACEVILLE — The Ashby volleyball team could not get into a groove Tuesday as the hosting Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley Wolverines picked up a three-set (25-13, 25-22, 25-10) victory.

ASHBY — The hosting Ashby volleyball team took Little Eight Conference foe Parkers Prairie to four sets Monday, but the visiting Panthers claimed a 25-13, 25-10, 24-26, 25-10 win.

BRANDON — The hosting Brandon-Evansville Chargers cruised to a three-set victory (25-13, 25-21, 25-17) over the Ashby Arrows in a Little Eight Conference match Thursday.

ASHBY — The hosting Ashby volleyball team came out ready to play, but after a long first set the visiting Hancock Owls gained control and swept the Arrows 31-29, 25-18, 25-10 Monday.

BARRETT — The West Central Area/Ashby football team ran into a nearly full-strength Barnesville Trojans Friday as the visitor left with a 41-0 victory.

ASHBY — In a showdown between Little Eight Conference foes, the visiting Battle Lake volleyball team swept past the Ashby Arrows 25-17, 25-19, 28-26 Thursday.

ROTHSAY — The Rothsay volleyball team fought hard for a three-set victory over Little Eight Conference rival Ashby Friday as the Tigers defeated the Arrows 25-20, 25-20, 27-25.

ASHBY — In its first action of the year, the Ashby volleyball team welcomed in the Wheaton Warriors Thursday. The Warriors took command early and edged the Arrows late to win a four-set match 25-10, 25-12, 21-25, 26-24.

The M State women’s basketball team added two more recruits for the 2020-21 season as Ashby senior Kalista Aamot and  Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg graduate Maddy Rohner have decided to  play basketball for the Spartans. 

MORRIS — The West Central Area boys’ basketball got an early jump on the Ashby Arrows in a Section 6A playoff game Saturday. The Knights would close out with a 73-55 victory at the University of Minnesota - Morris.
