VERNDALE — The Ashby boys’ basketball team got back to its winning ways Thursday as it defeated the hosting Verndale Pirates 67-41.

The Arrows came out of the gate ready to play as they built a 35-21 lead before halftime. The Pirates were never able to get a foothold in the game as the Arrows took home the win.

Scott Johnson had a big scoring night as he dropped in 32 points, while teammate Noah Johnson flipped in 14 points. Christian Norby led Ashby on the glass pulling down 10 rebounds.
