ASHBY —  A pitching duel ensued in the game between the hosting Ashby Arrows and Border West Monday. But it would be the visitor that found runs late in the game to pick up a 2-0 victory.

“Both teams were strong on the hill on Monday, but Border West was just a little bit stronger at the plate,” Arrows head coach Jared Larson. “Jaden (Norby) threw a gem but we need to have better at bats and come prepared mentally. Have to tip our hat to (Sam) Adelman though, he pitched lights out.”

The game would be knotted up 0-0 going into the sixth inning. Border West would break through as they plated two runs in the sixth on the way to the win.

Norby would finish the game with nine strikeouts on the mound, while his counterpart, Adelman, had 10 K’s.

The Arrows will look to get in the win column as they travel to take on West Central Area at 5 p.m. Thursday.
