BATTLE LAKE —Hillcrest boy’s golf team picked up a Quad County Conference win Thursday as the Comets competed at Balmoral Golf Course.

The Comets won with a team score of 353, followed by Ortonville (360) and Underwood (363).  Otter Tail Central (373), Rothsay (404), LPGE/Browerville (416), Border West (434), Pillager (439), West Central Area (450) and Ashby (458) rounded out the team scores.

John Vall led the Comets with a 74 for medalist honors, while teammates Mike Vall (87), Ben Christensen (95) and Logan Disbella (97) rounded out the team score. Joel Quam (101) and Nick Foss (117) also carded scores.

Leading the way for the Rockets was Canaan Kugler (third, 83) with Logan Frigaard (99), Bryce Jorgenson (101) and Braden Thorson (105) tallied scores.

Despite finishing in fourth, the Bulldogs saw Noah Chase (second, 82), Carter Dilly (fourth, 85) and Drew Young (fifth, 86) hit rounds in the 80s. Nathan Hillman (123) finished the team scoring for OTC.

The West Central Area Knights saw Tate Christianson lead them on the links with a 98. Declan Johnson (109), Jacob Warde (114) and Trenton Getzlaff (129) rounded out the team scoring.

Ethan Curtis shot a 94 for the Rothsay boys’ team while Braden Moen came in with a 98.  Tervin Erickson (105), Chris Carrillo (107), Carson Wiers (109) and Sam Danielson (114) also carded rounds for the Tigers.

Ashby was led on the course by Jacob Cook (110), followed by Bradley Anderson (113), Ethan Johnsrud (117), Ben Ludwig (118) and Brandon Anderson (131).
