In a pitching duel Thursday, the hosting Otter Tail Central baseball team did just enough to top the visiting Pelican Rapids Vikings as the home team picked up a 1-0 victory.

ELBOW LAKE — The West Central Area boys’ golf team claimed the Quad County Conference title  Monday as they won the conference championship at Tipsinah Mounds.



NEW YORK MILLS — The Otter Tail Central baseball team could not hold off the offensive fire power of the hosting New York Mills Eagles Thursday as the Bulldogs left the field with two losses.

The West Central Area boys’ golf team took four out of the six medal spots as the Knights competed in a Quad County Conference meet at Pebble Lake Golf Course Thursday.

BATTLE LAKE — The visiting Breckenridge Cowboys put the game out of reach in the final inning against the hosting Otter Tail Central baseball team Thursday on the way to a 7-1 win.

ELBOW LAKE — The West Central Area golf teams hosted Otter Tail Central, Hillcrest, Underwood, Ashby, Rothsay, Pillager and Border West in a home meet Thursday. The Knight boys would come away with a team victory, while the OTC girls’ team captured the girls team title.

HENNING — Despite morning weather, the Otter Tail Central Bulldogs baseball team kicked off their 2021 season Thursday as they hosted the West Central Area Knights. The visiting Knights struck early and closed out with a 5-1 victory.

PARKERS PRAIRIE — The Battle Lake boys’ basketball team’s season came to an end Thursday as the Parkers Prairie Panthers won a Section 6A playoff game 78-62.

UNDERWOOD — The Underwood girls’ basketball team used stifling defense to limit the visiting Battle Lake Battlers for a 51-30 Little Eight Conference win Monday.

BATTLE LAKE —The West Central Area boys’ basketball team used a balanced scoring attack to upend the hosting Battle Lake Battlers 74-46 Thursday.

BATTLE LAKE — The Battle Lake boys’ basketball team saw visiting Brandon-Evansville attempt a surge in the second half but a big run closed the door on the Chargers as the Battlers claimed a 54-38 Little Eight Conference win Friday.

The Otter Tail Central Bulldog wrestling team went 2-1 as they wrestled the last two home meets of the year and look to close out the year on the road at the end of February.

UNDERWOOD — The Battle Lake boys’ basketball team forced 30 turnovers on the way to a 77-45 Little Eight Conference victory over the hosting Underwood Rockets Friday.

BATTLE LAKE — An early deficit didn’t phase the visiting West Central Area girls’ basketball team Tuesday as the Knights handed the hosting Battle Lake Battlers a 70-55 loss.

ROTHSAY — The Rothsay boys’ basketball team took control early and held on to a 61-57 victory over the Battle Lake Battlers Tuesday.

BATTLE LAKE — The visiting Ashby boys’ basketball team made quick work of the hosting Battle Lake Battlers Friday as the Arrows picked up their sixth consecutive win with a 79-44 Little Eight Conference victory.

ROTHSAY — A battle between two Little Eight Conference foes ended in overtime as the visiting Battle Lake girls’ basketball team upended the Rothsay Tigers 60-55.

PARKERS PRAIRIE — In a Little Eight Conference tilt, the hosting Parkers Prairie Panthers used its depth to top the Battle Lake girls’ basketball team 68-47 Tuesday.

BATTLE LAKE — The Battle Lake girls’ basketball team opened its season on a positive note as the Battlers upended Little Eight Conference foe Brandon-Evansville 61-50 Thursday.

The Little Eight Conference recently announced its conference volleyball awards. Brandon-Evansville went undefeated (6-0) in conference play and won the LEC title. The Chargers’ Bailey Schaefer was named conference MVP and head coach Kelly Olson received Coach of the Year honors.

BATTLE LAKE — The Pelican Rapids volleyball team set voyage to take on the Battle Lake Battlers in its first nonconference match of the season Monday. After falling in the first set, the Vikings rebounded winning three straight sets to claim a 23-25, 28-26, 25-22, 25-15.

BATTLE LAKE — The Bulldogs would score first as quarterback Tanner Arndt took off for a 65-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. Arndt would take in the two-point conversion to put OTC up 8-0.
