BECKER — The 2019 Minnesota State High School League Class A Boys’ and Girls’ Golf tournaments got underway Tuesday at Pebble Creek.

Otter Tail Central’s Noah Chase got off to a solid start at the meet as he shot a Day 1 81 to put him tied for 14th. Teammate Jackson Nyhus (88) finished the first day tied for 42nd.

Nyhus will head back out on the course Wednesday at 7:39 a.m., while Chase will play his second round at 8:06 a.m.

In the girls’ meet, West Central Area’s Jessica St. Martin shot a 95 to put her tied for 30th, while Pelican Rapids’ Ellie Johnson (98) currently sits tied for 41st. Otter Tail Central’s Grace Nyhus shot a 99 to put her tied for 44th after the first day.

Johnson and Nyhus will be paired in the same group on Day 2 as they begin at 12:09 p.m. St. Martin will play her second round at 12:2 p.m.
