BATTLE LAKE — The hosting Battle Lake boys’ basketball team used a strong second half to pull away from Little Eight Conference rival Underwood Thursday to pick up a 60-41 victory.
“I was very pleased with the effort on both ends of the court tonight. We played a great first half defensively and that carried over into the offensive side as well. Battle Lake went on a couple streaks in the second half and that ended up being the difference in the game. We worked hard as a team and left it all out there tonight.”
Brennan Amundson led the Battlers in scoring with 20 points, while teammates Riley Leabo (15) and Nick VanErp (14) were also in double figures.
Canaan Kugler was the lone Rocket in double-digits with 12 points.
