PERHAM — After the first day of the Section 6A meet on Wednesday at Perham Lakeside, the Otter Tail Central and Pelican Rapids girls’ golf teams are looking to make a move in an attempt to advance to the Class A state tournament.

Park Christian currently is running away with the meet with a team score of 331. The Falcons occupy the top five individual spots after the first day with Emily Doeden (75) leading the way. Pine River-Backus (408), OTC (424) and Pelican Rapids (452) round out the team scoring.

OTC’s Grace Nyhus currently is tied for fifth with a round of 96, while teammates Megan Weber (106), Makenna Tysdal (109) and Madison Ness (113) completed the team score. Megan Hodnefield (117) and Adysen Tysdal (123) tallied rounds as well for the Bulldogs.

Ellie Johnson of Pelican Rapids hopes to move into contention for the state meet as she currently sits in 12th with a 101 score. Jenna Stetz (109),  Emma Seter (114) and Sophia Paulson (127) completed the team score for the Vikings.

The teams will close out the section tournament today.
