BATTLE LAKE — The Otter Tail Central football team was looking to get back to its winning ways Friday as it welcome in a familiar foe in Breckenridge. The Cowboys used a first-half lead to hit cruise control on the game as the Bulldogs fell 35-8.

Breckenridge would get on the board in the first quarter as Chris Nieto rushed in a 12-yard touchdown. Cooper Yaggie would kick the extra point to give the visitor a 7-0.

In the second quarter, Breckenridge would continue to pile on the points as Jacob Vizenor broke off a 44-yard touchdown run and Yaggie would find Jase Jensen for a 30-yard scoring strike to take a 21-0 lead into the break.

In the second half, the Cowboys looked to keep their momentum going but a fumble gave the Bulldogs the opportunity they had been waiting for. With a shift in the sails, the Bulldogs saw quarterback Tanner Arndt plunge into the endzone from 3 yards out to cut the lead to 21-6. Arndt would also take in the 2-point conversion.

In the fourth quarter, Nieto would put the game away for Breckenridge as he scored two touchdowns, the first from 16 yards out and the second from 15 yards.

Breckenridge finished the game with 370 yards of total offense, 295 yards coming on the ground. Otter Tail Central finished with 165 yards of total offense, 115 yards on the ground.

Leading the way for the Bulldogs in the rushing attack was Isaac Fisher with 52 yards on 11 carries.

The Bulldogs will now welcome in the West Central Area Knights for a 7 p.m. game in Henning Friday, Sept. 27.
