PERHAM — The Otter Tail Central boys’ golf team advanced two members to the Class A state meet after competing at Perham Lakeside Golf Course in the Section 6A meet Thursday.

Noah Chase (157) and Jackson Nyhus (163) each advanced to the state meet. Chase put together a first-day 78, followed by a 79, while Nyhus shot and 80 on Day 1 and an 83 on Day 2. Drew Young (181), Parker Fraki (190) and Carter Dilly (191) also competed for the Bulldogs.

Hillcrest’s John Vall just missed the cut for the state meet with a two-day total of 167. Also competing for the Comets were Mike Vall (170), Joel Quam (171), Logan Disabella (176), Ben Christenson (194) and Nick Foss (208).

The Underwood Rockets saw Trevor Swonger (167) and Canaan Kugler (181) compete at the meet, while the Pelican Rapids Viking saw the trio of Logan Petznick (176), Noah Kapenga (185) and McHale Korf (190) tee-off at Lakeside.

Walker-Hackensack-Akeley-Laporte would win the team title with a two-day total of 662 (335-327), followed by Hillcrest Lutheran Academy (684), Pine River-Backus (688) and Otter Tail Central (691).

Chase and Nyhus will now travel to Pebble Creek in Becker to compete in the Class A state meet June 11-12.
