The Rothsay Tigers volleyball team roared over the Battle Lake Battlers Tuesday in their homecourt matchup earning the victory in four sets (25-17, 18-25, 25-20, 25-20).
Major contributors to tonight’s game for the Tigers were Jenna Fabre and Jayna Gronewold. Gronewold, who used to be Rothsay’s libero, was recently moved to the right side where she’s already impacted the team for the better. Replacing Gronewold at libero is Summer Wigdahl.
“I think the girls tried their very best tonight, it just didn’t quite work out for us, Battle Lake is a pretty solid team,” Tigers head coach Kim Braaten said. “We’ve made some changes to the rotation which is shaping up to be a good thing for our team. It was a good effort out on the court, I’m pretty proud of my team that they never gave up and it was a close match. I’m looking forward to working on what needs to be worked on for when we meet again in about three weeks.”
Rothsay’s next matchup is a road game against the Rockets Tuesday, Sept. 25 at 7:15 p.m. in Underwood, while up next for Battle Lake is a home game against Parkers Prairie Thursday, Sept. 20 at 7:15 p.m.
