UNDERWOOD — The Battle Lake boys’ basketball team celebrated its first win of the season Tuesday as it defeated Little Eight Conference opponent Underwood 66-31.
“Battle Lake came out more intense tonight and wanted to win more,” Rockets head coach Evan Meece said. “We turned the ball over far too many times and didn’t get a chance to set up our offense and work the ball to a good look. We need to take better care of the ball and come out with more intensity.”
The Battlers were led in scoring by Drew Johnson with 19 points, while teammates Riley Leabo and Kayne Cameron added 14 and 11 points, respectively.
Underwood was led by Wintson Heifort with 11 points.
The Battlers will now take on LEC rival Hillcrest at 7:15 p.m. Friday.
The Rockets will welcome in Wheaton at 7:15 p.m. Thursday.
