Fergus Falls gymnast Madison Muchow begins her routine on the balancing beam at home Thursday against Willmar. The Cardinals would edge the Otters in the meet 130.6-124.45.

The Fergus Falls gymnastics team hosted Central Lakes Conference foe Willmar Thursday as the Roosevelt Gymnasium. In a close match, the visiting Cardinals would claim a 130.6-124.45 victory over the Otters.

Leading the way for the Otters was Madison Muchow as she took second place in all-around events with a 30.8 score. Muchow would also take third on vault (8.5) and fourth on the balance beam (7.9).

Other top finishes for the Otters included Abigail Strege on the bars (third, 7.7) and on vault (fourth, 8.45), Mashayla Mau on the balance beam (third, 8.1) and Kellen Frigaard in the floor routine (fourth, 8.0).

In JV action, the Otters defeated Willmar 117.25-112.8. Amelia Olson led the JV with a second-place all around finish with a 27.45 score.

The Otters will return Thursday, Dec. 19 as they host the Sartell Sabres at 6 p.m.
