UNDERWOOD — The hosting Underwood boys’ basketball team could not keep pace with Little Eight Conference rival Brandon-Evansville Thursday as the Chargers claimed a 52-39 win.

“This was a hard fought out battle tonight and Brandon came out on top,” Rockets head coach Evan Meece said. “Defensively, we did everything we could and played extremely well.  The difference on the defensive end was second chance points, fast break points, and free throws.  We gave them too many second chances and put them to the line too many times as they shot 12-18 from the line to our 0-2. If we finish every play with a rebound and limit them to one shot the outcome could have been much different.”

Krosby Aasness led the Rockets in scoring with 18 points, while teammate Canaan Kugler dropped in 11 of his own.

The Rockets will look to right the sail as they travel to take on another LEC foe in Parkers Prairie at 7:15 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19.
