EVANSVILLE — In a hard-fought Little Eight Conference battle, the hosting Brandon-Evansville Chargers defeated the Underwood Rockets 3-2 (25-15, 25-16, 23-25, 25-27, 15-7) Thursday.
“After a slow start, I was really proud of the girls for pulling together and putting up a good fight,” Rockets head coach Diane Ross said. “B/E has some powerful hitters and in Set 3 we started getting touches on the block and we were digging much better than the first two sets. We made some errors in Set 5 that we couldn’t overcome, and the ball rolled B/E’s way. But overall it was a very competitive match and a good experience for our team.”
Kayla Rocholl had a great night from the service line as she went 20-for-20 with four aces, while teammate Brooke Hovland had 17 kills.
The Rockets will now travel to Perham to compete in the KLN tournament Saturday.
