EVANSVILLE — The West Central Area volleyball team could not short-circuit the hosting Brandon-Evansville Chargers as the Knights fell 25-12, 25-15, 25-19 Thursday.

“We finally stepped on the court and played volleyball without drama and fear,” Knights head coach Melissa Foslien said. “It’s been a tough last couple of weeks, and despite the loss tonight, we played as a team. I really hope this is a turning point for our team this season.”

Lizzie Rustan led the Knights in kills with seven, while Brook Anderson (10-for-10, ace) and Rustan (5-for-5, ace) were perfect from the service line.

The Knights will travel to compete in the Bertha-Hewitt Tournament at 9 a.m. Saturday.
