The Fergus Falls High School Claybuster trap team is fired up for the 2020 season.

Students in grades 6-12 in the Fergus Falls School District are eligible to join the team. The season will start March 24 with a rule meeting for parents and shooters, and a first-year shooter clinic on the basics.  Shooters need a Minnesota firearms safety certificate and meet Minnesota High School Athletic Association qualifications.  Shooters need to supply their own 12- or 20-gauge shotgun and eye and ear protection.

The team shoots and competes on Tuesday’s after school with a possible practice on Sunday afternoons at the Lakes Area Shooting Center, north of Fergus Falls.  The team is supported and governed by the Claybuster Booster Club, a nonprofit volunteer organization of parents and interested individuals.  The team shoots under the auspice of the Minnesota High School Clay Target League, with the cooperation of the Fergus Falls High School to support this lettering sport.

Student’s parent or guardian can sign shooters up and pay fees at the Fergus Falls Community Education office before mid-February. Sign-up and join the safest and fastest growing high school sport around and compete as an individual and member of the Claybuster team.  Parent meeting on Feb. 5-6, attend one, at 6 p.m. located at Lakes Area Shooting Center, team sponsor.
